THE BOSTON RED SOX START OFF THE 2013 SEASON THE RIGHT WAY WITH AN OPENING DAY WIN AGAINST THE YANKEES!

While it is in fact only one win, there can be no debating that it is nice to see our Boston Red Sox start the 2013 season with an opening day win against the hated New York Yankees in Yankee Stadium no less.

While expectations are not very high for this team, there is no doubt that had they started the season with a loss, their critics would have been all over them saying that it is the same old team with the same old problems as before.

However we saw definite evidence to the contrary as the Red Sox backed up a solid opening day start from John Lester with four perfect innings of relief from four different relief pitchers and then combined it with some strong defense (thank you Jackie Bradley) and aggressive base running (Johnny Gomes scoring from second base on an infield hit) along with some clutch hitting to take the opening game of the season.

Both Ben and I feel strongly that the Red Sox will surprise a lot of people this year and we believe that they will in fact make it back into the playoffs in 2013. Go Red Sox!
